Highlights of this half day excursion will include: a visit to Ribeira Grande, a small town picturesquely located on a volcanic plateau above the sea; a walking tour of the village of Ribeira Seca, a little village where the Festa das Cavalhadas de Sao Pedro takes place every June; Lagoa do Fogo, a crater lake in the centre of the island; a visit to Vila da Lagoa and the Factory Cerâmica Vieira, where you’ll see artisans honing their craft and treat yourself to one of the finished products including Portuguese tiles and kitchen items at the studio store.
