A Tale as Old as Time

Really get to know Santorini’s history and culture and visit Santorini through the centuries.

We visit the Akrotiri Archaelogical site where you can see the settlement buried when the volcano erupted. Houses, frescos and even staircases are still intact, preserved for thousands of years under the volcanic ash and only discovered in the 1960s.   After a brief photo stop at the famous Red Beach, a traditional Santorini meal is served in a family run tavern, with unlimited local beer, wine and refreshments. We then go on to a musical instrument workshop where you can see and even play some of the instruments that are part of Santorini’s heritage.   The showpiece of the day is the visit to the Venetian lighthouse for a sunset every bit as spectacular as the one in Oia, but without the crowds.
