4x4 Full Day Safari Adventure - Marathon Country

Our adventure starts from your hotel where you will be welcomed by our experienced Safari captain who will brief you through the day's itinerary. Our first stop is the departure of the classic Marathon Competition. This annual competition departs from Marathon and we will talk about the history behind this epic running event. Next stop, the Marathon Lake. We will drive till we reach the damn that was constructed in 1930 for the creation of the Lake. Back to our vehicles, the Off-Road Adventure begins! We will keep driving along the banks of the lake and we will discover hidden camping spots, freshwater pools, created by rivers streaming to the lake. We will make stops to collect thyme, lavender, oregano and other seasonal herbs. We will also do some necessary photo stops, as our route follows small hills providing panoramic views. We will keep driving until we reach the Santa Anna Chapel, a little chapel, built for special ceremonies such as Easter and Christmas Day Ceremony. It is always open to hikers and pilgrims that visit the forest. It serves as a perfect spot for a refreshing break. Back to our vehicles and continue our Off-Road Adventure through Rafes, towards the Saint Porphyrios Monastery. After admiring the surrounding nature and feeling blessed by our visit to the Monastery, it’s time for lunch to the nearest village Milesi. Closing our day full of beautiful memories and adventurous moments we start our journey back to your hotels! This road trip adventure is an unforgettable experience packed with fun, amazing scenery and local touch!

Notes: This tour although not an extreme 4x4 experience, is not recommended for people suffering from car sickness, back or neck problems, fear of heights or bumpy roads, pregnant women, disabled people or people with mobility issues, children under 3 years old or for any children and adults who for any reason could not join a 4x4 off road tour. This tour has refreshing stops every 30-40 minutes.
