Ikaria’s capital is an easygoing and dependable Greek port, with clustered old streets, hotels and domatia (rooms in private homes), tasty restaurants and a lively waterfront cafe scene. Although beaches are nicer in Ikaria's north, the area's renowned hot radioactive springs, scattered along the coast, attract aching bodies from around Europe. The main cluster is located 2km east at Therma, which also has a nice pebble beach.
