Almancil isn't really a resort as it's not on the coast and it doesn't have any hotels. It is located inland and forms the northern point of the Golden Triangle of Quinta do Lago and Val do Lobo. There are some fantastic restaurants in the town and surrounding areas, really some of the best in the Algarve.
