Kayakoy is the old Greek town outside of Fethiye that was abandoned when the Greeks left in the early part of the last century. (The Greeks called it Levissi).
Turks and Greeks lived side by side and out of respect the Turks refused to occupy the village.It's now a ghost town and popular day out for tourists in the nearby resorts of Fethiye, Olu Deniz and Hisaronu, well maybe not so much the last one.
It's well worth a day out there to explore and experience history.
