Dalaman

Dalaman is known by many simply as “an airport”. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Dalaman is now rapidly becoming an investment area for many Europeans purchasing property for investment in Turkey, this seems due to many factors including the town being announced a main tourist area (designated by the Turkish authorities) from 2005 onwards. Plans for new marina’s and a golf course are underway.Dalaman town itself, has many shops, restaurants, bars and tea gardens and is growing quickly due to the investment in the area.Dalaman in fact has its own huge natural beach, although not commercial ‘yet’ it is still pleasant and hosts lots of wildlife.Dalaman exists for its airport , which serves Marmaris , Dalyan , Kas , Fethiye and nearby towns.There’s nothing wrong with Dalaman , a tolerably nice little Turkish Mediterranean farming town 5.5 km south of the coastal highway. But for travelers the Dalaman Airport , 5.5 km (3.4 miles) south of the town, is the only real reason to pass through. ( Bodrum to the west and Antalya to the east have their own airports .)
