St Paul's bay is in the North of the island. It's a large and very popular area, picturesque but has only rocky beaches. It's a bit confusing up here as to which resort is which as they all seem to run into each other so let's try and explain. As the name suggests St Paul's bay is a bay and accommodates the resorts of Qawra and Bugibba which are the new areas and are home to the liveliest area nightlife. St. Pauls' is the original place and is where you will find the old town and where you will find a selection of quieter bars, cafes and shops. St Pauls beach front is a rocky outlook but they are flat so you can sunbathe and swim. There is one small beach which as you'd expect gets a bit snug in the summer time. The next biggest beach is about 8KM away Mellieha Bay. Valletta is 15KM from Valletta and about 75 mins from the airport.
