Plaka is the resort opposite the famous Leper colony island - Spinalonga. This is where lepers from all over Greece were sent and stayed until they died. These days it's a major tourist attraction where you can explore the island and the remaining buildings. There's not much to the resort of Plaka, apart from a decent beach, some shops, a few bars and some fantastic seafood restaurants. Some of the best on the island, so more than you think.
