Arguineguín is a small town located at the end of the motorway, which was, until fairly recently, little more than a fishing village. Still a working port, Arguineguín has developed into more of a tourist resort with the usual modern hotel complexes. Yet, this little town has managed to preserve its original pleasant core with several good fish restaurants and some lively fishermen’s bars at the harbour, making a visit well worthwhile.

Here, the busiest day in the week is Tuesday, when Arguineguín hosts the largest market on the island. If you want to avoid the traffic on the road, then take the regular boat services from Puerto Rico or Puerto Mogán to visit the market and have a stroll around the harbour.

There’s also a pleasant coastal promenade connecting Arguineguín with the beautiful beaches and coves at Patalavaca.
