Talamanca is a small and quiet resort lining a beautiful bay and has a long sandy beach. Whilst peaceful, more lively activity is on hand with Ibiza Town close by. You can get some fantastic views of the walled citadel of the old town as well as see Formentera, often quite clearly, in the distance.
The sheltered beach follows the line of this pretty semi-circular bay and is blessed with fine golden sand and very shallow water, ideal for safe bathing or splashing about with the kids. At the back runs a long promenade which makes for a delightful walk all around the bay - at any time of year.
In summer, there is a good choice of water sports here too; find out more on our beach page. Nearby activities also include a fantastic choice of boat excursions and boat charters - a day on the water is simply a must for any Ibiza holiday.
Along the promenade there are many bars and restaurants serving good quality food and well-mixed cocktails to satisfy all kinds of palates and budgets. This long stretch has everything from rustic beach huts, beach clubs and Mediterranean restaurants of all levels.
There are also exclusive and mid-range hotels with restaurants open to the public, some of them open year round. The long promenade and beach of Talamanca are much favoured by locals who come here on summer and winter weekends to unwind.
Close by to Talamanca, in walking distance, are also the exclusive restaurants of Marina Botafoch. Think stunning views of Ibiza old town, excellent quality dishes all with a beautiful cosmopolitan crowd for added ambience.
Talamanca lies on the north side of Ibiza Town. Marina Botafoch, where you will see some of the world's most impressive yachts, is also home to a wide choice of restaurants and bars and can be reached on foot in a few minutes. From there, small ferries take you to Ibiza Town - it's a lovely ride around the edge of the harbour over to the old town, close to its citadel, Dalt Vila. You will see the citadel in all its majesty as you journey towards the stop off point for the boat.
You can also walk into the centre of Ibiza Town, along the broad harbour promenade which is lined with tall palm trees and wide green lawns; it is a lovely stroll of about 20 to 30 minutes.
Jesús, a small neighbouring village, is also only a 15-minute walk away and here, you will also find a good range of bars and restaurants of very good quality.
Part of Talamanca's success as a resort is in attracting canny clubbers who relax there by day and wander the short distance to Ibiza Town in the evening for its amazing nightlife offering a wide selection of clubs and bars.
World-famous super-club Pacha, where you can see some of the best DJ's known to man, is just a ten-minute walk away. Get up early enough and you'll see clubbers walking back at sunrise to Talamanca across the golden sands to recover in peace.
Near the north-eastern end of the bay is Destino, a spectacular open-air venue in a luxury hotel of the same name, belonging to the Pacha group.
Most hotels in Talamanca are situated right in front of the beach: in some you can literally step from your room onto the sand. Some of them also open all year round with their restaurants and sunny terraces a favourite with the locals during winter.
Alternatively, there are plenty of rental villas in and around Talamanca. Why not enjoy a holiday like the rich and famous do in your own private holiday pad.
