Fira (Pronounced Thira) is the bustling capital of Santorini. With its many local craft shops and souk-like cobbled alleyways, it is perfect for people who enjoy the comforts and excitement that a large town has to offer. The town is a melting pot of sights, smells and sounds with myriad restaurants offering local delicacies as well as dishes from around the world to reflect the diversity of Santorini’s visitors. Museums, art galleries and churches are all on your doorstep by day, and at night, you can watch as Fira starts to come alive as people explore the alleys and enjoy the nightlife in lazy shisha bars, cocktails bars or live music bars and even nightclubs. You can ride the cable car down to the old port, or descend the many winding steps to the caldera. Being right on the cliff of the caldera, Fira has stunning views and people gather to watch the sunset from the famous Five Bells Church.
