Kuşadası is located on the Aegean Coast, 90 kms south of Turkey’s third largest city, Izmir. The town has something to offer everybody, with its numerous beaches, several bazaars and never ending nightlife. For those visitors wishing to see more of this beautiful country and its fascinating historical sites, Kuşadasi is ideally based for daily excursions and is only 20 minutes from the ancient city of Ephesus. The area boasts several sandy beaches and one of the best equipped Marinas in Turkey with a capacity of 600 yachts. The town offers an abundance of winding streets crowding with buzzing shops and bazaars, mostly due to the arrival of numerous Cruise Ships to the harbour each day. Kuşadasi, meaning “Bird Island” which is now a booming tourist resort began as a small town stop-over point because of its convenient location. It is now one of the most popular resorts due to its close proximity to the airport, ancient sites, affordable accommodation, its huge choice of restaurants and of course its never-ending night life. Another attraction in the resort is ‘Pigeon Island’ which houses an old castle, once used as a “look out” which has been restored and is now connected to the mainland by a pedestrian causeway.
