Maravel Botanical Garden - Spilli

A half day tour to the beautiful Maravel four-acre medicinal herb garden and the picturesque village of Spili.

The Herbal Garden tour will give you a unique and memorable experience during your stay on the Island of Crete.  When you step into the Maravel Garden, you will enter an oasis of herbs. There is a two-acre medicinal herb gardens.  This is particularly special in the spring and summer as you will find yourself immersed in a peaceful and magical garden, filled with aromatic and medicinal herbs. 

The tour will familiarize you with a wide range of native plants & herbs.  You will be introduced to plants that have been used for centuries by the Cretan people for first aid, emergencies and the treatment of chronic Illnesses. There you will enjoy a herbal tea as well as local yoghurt with home-made rose flower.

After the tour you will have approximately 2 hours, to visit the traditional village of Spili, with its famous square with the lionhead fountains. The village has nice cafes, small tavernas, a folklore museum, and the local monastery (site of bishop), that are worth visiting.
