Forgotten Isles Cruise

By far the best boat trip available in Nidri.

The M.S Christina will take you on a cruise of the islands surrounding Lefkada. A luxury Motor Yacht with comfortable padded mattress' and seating. Choose your place for the day, sit back and relax.

Departing Nidri at 9am we sail down the Meganisi channel enjoying the beautiful scenery and visit the cave of Papanikoli on Meganisi. Learn about the adventures of Greece's most famous submarine captain and his exploits.

Our first swim stop is at Formekula, an outcrop of rock with crystal clear waters. Home of the shy Monk Seal, keep your eyes peeled for a rare sighting. Crystal clear water make for an ideal morning swim or snorkel. (equipment provided)

Next it's the vilaage of Kastos on Kastos Island. A tiny settlement of stone built houses surrounding the harbour. Visit the windmill on the peninsula or if you are lucky the church of Agios Ioannis (Saint John) will be open. Beautifully intricate paintings adorn the walls and ceilings. Alternatively just kick back and relax with an ice cream or coffee in a harbourside cafe.

Limni beach is our next stop. With it's white beaches, turquoise waters, intricate rock formations and secluded location it makes for an ideal swim before the famous on-board Christina buffet lunch, which is served with local wine and soft drinks included.

Next we stop at the Island of Kalamos; Asproyiali beach. Rated as one of the most beautiful beaches in the Ionian sea. A pine forest stretches down to the dazzling white beach, the highlight of the tour for many people. The white sands under the crystal clear sea create perfect conditions for swimming and snorkeling. 

We sail across to Scorpios island next. During this part of the cruise, if you are very lucky, you may see dolphins alongside. The Ionian Dolphin Protection Scheme is operated in this area and sighting are common. (but not guaranteed)

Scorpios Island, the playground of Aristotle Onassis and the place where he and Jackie Kennedy were married. Learn about the tragic lives of the Onassis family and the current billionaire now living there.

Return to Nidri at 6pm.
