Leaving Plakias we start a nice drive by our coach along the south coast. After 1 hour of an interesting bus-ride we arrive at the village of Chora Sfakion. From there we continue our journey by the ferry. It follows a nice boat-trip along the South Coast and one hour later we reach the village of Agia Roumeli. At the same time there is the main goal of our trip, the south-end of Samaria Gorge. During our stay at the village you have enough time to walk 3 km, up to the entrance of the national park, or even further, the next 1,5 km, to the narrowest and the most impressive part of the gorge, called “Iron Gate”. This trip can be a nice family-tour because you decide, how fast and how far you want to walk. Afterwards you have time for a nice swimming in the Libyan Sea, to relax or to enjoy a traditional lunch at one of the local taverns. Late in the afternoon we take the same ferry again and sail back to the port of Chora Sfakion, where our coach is waiting, to take us back to Plakias and to your hotel.   Entrance to the Samaria Gorge is 5 Euros, and the Boat Ticket is 13 Euros and 8 euros for children.
