Detailed itinerary:
This amazing excursion takes you deep inside the Troodos forests where you will experience the nature and wilderness of Cyprus.
It’s a day filled with spectacular Landscapes, clean rivers, pristine air, birds, flowers, trees, rocks, soils, cliffs, fields, orchards, vineyards and lots of fun and adventure.
We top it all off with great local food and probably the best wine in Cyprus.
The day begins with a short stop at one of Cyprus’s most enchanting locations: Petratou Romiou (also known as the “Birthplace of Aphrodite”).
Marvel at the dramatic rocks or have a quick drink before we head for the Pafos hinterland to visit Chrysoroyiatissa Monastery, described as “the most quaint and picturesque monastery on the island.”
There we will tour the old stone complex, the famous church and newly built museum, and may even have a chance to see modern icon painters at work.
Driving deeper into the Pafos forest, a road less travelled leads to a wonderfully serene and majestic spot in the Troodos Mountains: Cedar Valley, named after the imposing endemic Cyprus cedar.
During a walk in the forest, you will hear the story of these unique trees.
We then visit a traditional village winery for free wine tasting and fascinating insights into the winemaking process.
The mountain village of Omodos is famous for its narrow streets, stone architecture, and the Timios Stavros Monastery, which is said to house a piece of the rope used to tie Christ to the cross.
You will have ample time for a stroll through the village and some souvenir shopping.
