This trek takes us to one of Gozo’s most underrated
areas, where, we find long stretches of fascinating cliffs where the hiking
trail runs right by the cliffs’ edge. Kicking off from Victoria, Gozo’s capital
city, we visit the small town of Xlendi, the walk along the roadside, alongside the rural valley, is straightforward and well signposted; this is Wied ix-Xlendi.
The pedestrian path leads you to a charming viewpoint just outside town, before
traversing an old stone bridge to Xlendi
Tower. This is a quintessential Maltese watchtower. After admiring the
coastline view, we start heading towards the Sanap Cliffs, which also offer marvellous
views all along the way, which lead us to the Ta’ Cenc cliffs and after that,
back to Victoria.
