Jardin Canario is a huge cactus garden that was planted in the 1900's to help the environment, it is still serving that purpose but now it is open to the public so now you can go and see the plants and the wildlife surrounding it first hand. The gardens is easiest to get to if you have a hire car because you can take a quicker personalised route, the gardens may be some way south of Las Palmas however if you cannot or don't wish to hire a car then you can take one of the direct buses that takes people there every 5-10 minutes. I'ts a great way to spend your day however make sure to have hats or sun cream because of the heat, but also a lot of water because there are no shops.
