It becomes very popular over thousands of years due to its technical constructions of boats nowadays. The famous Ottoman Navy shipyard was founded in 1775 to make new ships for the navy. The first ship was built in 1784. The Ottoman Tower was built to observe the pirate's attacks in 1882 as well as the walls of the shipyard that have been expanded. The structure serves as an art gallery today.
