Filerimos Monastery is a lovely stone structure set amidst a verdant area, a few kilometres from the main town. The monastery is a part of the Ialyssos area but has become a tourist attraction in its own accord.
The lovely medieval monastery with its stone construction and domed arch is an absolute delight to see and is highly recommended for anyone remotely interested in architecture and history.
The 5th century building and its byzantine architecture stands out amongst a wild and green area that makes it a very refreshing and lovely sight. The winding road that will take you up to Filerimos hill where the monastery lies is a picturesque area and worth the trip by itself.
