Mount Aenos is the highest peak on Kefalonia. Rocky passes lined with Greek Fir, Black Pine, wild flowers and panoramic views have given the mountain its National Park status. A hike to the summit would be akin to climbing Ben Nevis and you may encounter some of the wild horses roaming the area. Driving the Argostoli to Sami road, you will easily find the road to the top. Park at the transmitter station and walk the dirt path and steps to the summit. With plenty of places to stop for a picnic the area is a great place to spend the day.
