Vitamins restaurant has been in the same family for three decades and retains the ethos it had when it opened: to showcase the best of Corfu’s homegrown produce.
Its name, which references the nutritional value of eating fresh, local food, echoes the sentiment.
Beautiful, simply prepared Greek dishes are served on the dining room’s swoon-worthy hillside terrace, which affords panoramic views over the sea.
And while seafood and grilled meats are among the menu’s standouts, vegetarians and vegans are also well catered for here
Thirty years ago, Kostas, the father of the present proprietor of Vitamins Restaurant, came back from the army with a good idea.
Greece was still recovering from economic depression that was just ending with a trickle of early tourists. Foods were not in general supply, since most people produced their own and are well from olive groves, fields and smallholdings.
But he has the inspiration to establish a restaurant serving the best of this local produce. And he would call it Vitamins, evoking the goodness of the food.
Vitamins now run by Dimitris (the son of the original proprietor) his wife Maria and his daughters Ntina and Amalia.
