Mirador Corrales de Guize

Before reaching Betancuria, along the FTV-30 Highway, and past the Morro Velosa Viewpoint, we arrive at the most recent Fuerteventura Viewpoint, where we find a pleasant surprise: besides being an excellent viewpoint in both the northern half from Fuerteventura as well as from the Betancuria Valley, we find two impressive bronze statues that represent the Ancient Kings of Fuerteventura before the conquest in 1402, Guise and Ayose, who ruled the two kingdoms into which the island was divided: Jandía and Maxorata. and that they were separated by a defensive wall which is believed to have been located where this viewpoint is today.

The statues are made of bronze and measure almost four meters in height, and represent the two kings with their rods of command.

In a short time, this point has become an obligatory stop for all tourists to Fuerteventura, who take a photo of the hand of one of the Kings (Is it Guise or Ayose?), So the King's finger is " polished "by the thousands of hands that have grabbed it to take the corresponding souvenir photo.

The sculptures are a donation from the OHL company, they are 4.5 meters high and around 1.5 meters wide and are the work of Emiliano Hernández. Initially, its installation was proposed in the square attached to the Congress Palace of the capital, although finally a more emblematic location was chosen and associated precisely with the presence of the former leaders.

This geographical point has also become a venue for public or political events and other celebrations and demands.
