Located in the Marfa ridge overlooking Mellieħa, this small bay can be reached by traversing some difficult terrain that descends along a cliff slope. Access to the sea is restricted due to the rocks that are jutting out of the water. Consequently, little to no development has taken place, and the bay is largely in pristine condition.
The bay takes its name from the dark brown sea slug which can be found in its waters. The rare indigenous plant, the Pancratium Maritimum also grows in abundance here, in August.
