Popeye Village (named so after the movie Popeye, which had been filmed there) occupies the craggy slopes of Anchor Bay, which is an otherwise relatively isolated cove west of Mellieħa. Pretty and serene, this picturesque inlet is also often used by fishermen who perch on the little quay left from the film set. The waters here are usually rather calm, however, the bay is suitable for more seasoned swimmers.
