This chapel is situated in the old village of Casal Millieri, which lies between Żurrieq, Qrendi, Mqabba, and Kirkop. The village was first documented in 1419, with its origins dating back to Roman, and possibly even pre-historic times.
Consecrated on the site of an earlier chapel in 1480, the Chapel of the Annunciation was built in the 13th century and is a typical example of a medieval Maltese church.
The chapel measures 5 metres by 7 metres and is divided into five bays. The paintings present here are fairly unique, and executed in a fresco technique. Their style and the angular Gothic letters of their inscriptions date them to the middle of the 15th century. Pottery, carved stone, coins, and more were found here
