The most famous historical sight in the area. Definitely worth a visit if you have hired a car. Probably an equal distance between Lefkada and Parga. Nikopolis means "Victory City" Niko meaning victory and Polis meaning city. Built by Ceasar Avgustos (August) or Octavious in Latin (8th month) in celebration over his victory over Antony & Cleopatra. There is an amphitheater close to the old stadium and the walls of the city are visible from the road. Head towards Preveza city and you'll find the Museum of Nikoplois. Spend the afternoon with a visit to the harbor in Preveza City. Aprox 1hours drive from Nidri or Parga.
