Punta Galera

One of the most breathtaking sights to behold in Ibiza, Punta Galera is an amazing bay surrounded by stone formations jutting out from the cliffs like large, flat shelves. Beneath the rocks, the sparkling azure Mediterranean Sea glistens, beckoning sunbathers to cool off by diving off the rocks, while surrounding rock pools prove popular with snorkelers. A truly unique Ibiza experience and one that shouldn’t be missed.

Those lucky travelers who have discovered Punta Galera’s beauty come back season after season, while Ibiza residents (who dub it the ‘flat rocks’ make the most of the sun-drenched protected location all year round. Yoga gurus, alternative types and meditation groups also practice on the flat rocky platforms and it’s also extremely popular with nudists.

When to go

Due to the lack of shade, it’s best to visit Punta Galera either early in the morning or late in the afternoon – it’s not very easy to balance an umbrella in the rocks! Sunsets are simply spectacular from this vantage point.
