Agios Titos Church is located right in the centre of Heraklion. It is said by everyone who has visited that it is simply stunning on the inside and out, and going to view it is a must. It has Byzantine origins in AD 961 and was converted to a Catholic church by the Venetians and turned into a mosque by the Ottomans, who also rebuilt it after the devastating 1856 earthquake.
