The Limassol Carnival is the oldest and most popular festivity in Limassol but also across Cyprus. Throughout the centuries the tradition of the Apokries - the Carnival festive season - was celebrated across the island, but the festivities local to Limassol grew in scope so much that in time they became an integral part of the town's identity and culture.
The 11 days of carnival are celebrated from the 20th February to the 1st March. During this time, there will be many celebrations taking place every night in various parts of Limassol.
The Grand finale of the week is the Grand Parade on the 1st March. Everyone will be dressed up in costumes and celebrating........It is a wonderfuil time to be in Cyprus during this time, and especially in Limassol......
