Pula is the largest city in Istria, and known as a rugged harbour, but also as a city filled with ancient roman monuments, including the legendary amphitheatre. The massive arena still stands large in the very center of the city, and you can almost hear the sounds of gladiators in battle. Other than significant historic spots, Pula has a well-known nightlife scene, most notably a strong rock'n'roll scene. Just a short boat ride away from the city streets lies the Brijuni National Park, an archipelago with a nature reserve, and an important attraction in it's own right.
